Grace Football Impresses in Scrimmage Victory

August 17, 2026 – Grace Community School’s football team combined its JV and varsity squads for a scrimmage last week, playing two live, game-like quarters and coming away with a 28-0 win.
The Cougars’ offense found the end zone repeatedly. Bradon Alexander led the way with three rushing touchdowns, while Bruhn Henry added a 70-yard rushing score of his own. Christian Henry had a big day through the air, hauling in more than 100 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Beck Durham also found the end zone on a receiving touchdown. Josiah King and Hunter Lopez each contributed explosive plays in the receiving game.
On defense, the Cougars were just as disruptive, forcing three turnovers without giving the ball away themselves. Mac Gautier led the team in tackles with four, including two for a loss. Coleman Swaim also finished with four tackles and a forced fumble, and added a rushing touchdown on offense. Aaron Vidrine capped the defensive effort with an interception he returned for a touchdown.
The Cougars will look to carry that momentum into their scrimmage against Dangerfield on Thursday, August 20, with kickoff set for 5 p.m.
