Grace Football Wins Back-and-Forth Battle with Shelbyville, 42-35

September 28, 2026 – Grace Community School’s varsity football team survived a back-and-forth battle with Shelbyville, holding on for a 42-35 win in one of the most exciting games of the season so far.

The offense came to play all night, with Slade Etheredge distributing the ball efficiently, completing 17 passes for 222 yards. Christian Henry was his top target, hauling in seven catches for 127 yards and making big plays down the field throughout the game. Bradon Alexander kept the ground game rolling with 74 rushing yards, helping the Cougars answer nearly every Shelbyville score with one of their own.

The defense had to dig deep in a game that came down to the wire. Andrew Gardner anchored the effort with 13 total tackles, including nine solo stops, while Bruhn Henry added six total tackles to help the Cougars close things out.

With the win, the Cougars will look to keep the momentum going Friday when they host Arlington Grace Prep for Senior Night and Homecoming.
