Grace Football’s Season Closes with Heart, Fight, and Gratitude

November 17, 2025 – The Grace Football team saw their season come to a close on Friday night in the 1st Round of Playoffs.  They ran up against the Warriors of The Woodlands Christian Academy, who were a talented and well-coached team.  The Cougars threw the kitchen sink at them, but Woodlands proved too much.  The final score was 51-6.

Senior WR Justus McQuay had a strong performance in his last game, catching 6 passes for 112 yards.  Senior QB Cole Stanley also played well in his final night under center for the Cougars.  Stanley was 15/23 for 183 yards and had 8 yards rushing.  Senior Elijah Hicks had 2 catches for 20 yards.  Juniors Christian Henry & Dylan Stinson, and Sophomores Coleman Swaim & Brandon Alexander, also had touches.  Alexander scored the lone touchdown for the Cougars, a 5-yard run late in the first half.

The defense was led by Junior Andrew Gardner, who was a menace to the Warrior offense.  Gardner racked up 11 tackles and 2 QB pressures.  Sophomore Coleman Swaim played solid in the secondary, finishing the night with 5 tackles.

As the football season comes to a close, the Grace football team would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the season.  It is a blessing to have a community that offers such tremendous love and encouragement.  We also would like to make special mention of our seniors, who provided such steadiness and leadership during a long season.  To those six guys— Ayle Hecht, Elijah Hicks, Justus McQuay, Doak Porter, Cole Stanley, and Brayden Wells — we say thank you for all the work done and memories made, and we pray the Lord’s blessing, protection and favor on you and your families!
