Habermehl Wins Regional Title, Advances to TAPPS State Tournament

May 11, 2026 – The Grace varsity boys and girls golf teams competed May 4-5 at the TAPPS 5A Regional South Tournament at Hawks Creek Golf Club in Fort Worth.

Both teams finished fifth overall. The boys team battled throughout the two-day tournament but finished eight strokes short of qualifying for the TAPPS state tournament.

Freshman Reid Habermehl delivered a standout performance, shooting rounds of 65 and 67 to earn the regional championship. With the win, Habermehl advanced to the TAPPS 5A State Golf Tournament, May 11-12, at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose.

Grace will look to close the season strong as Habermehl represents the Cougars at the state tournament.
