JH Boys Soccer Working Hard

The JH boys soccer team has been working hard over the past 2.5 months. They have been working on team building and both technical and tactical skills. So far they have a record of 2 wins and 1 loss.

Game one was against Christian Heritage on our home tuff. The boys did surprisingly well

considering this was their first real game. The defense played particularly well holding off the Christian Heritage strikers and our midfield maintained possession enabling our striker to push forward to the goal. The final score was 3-2. Goals were scored by Nehemiah Valdez (2) and B.J. Olusola (1). Other notable players were Clive Johnson, Tristan Hopson, Deacon Flores, Ethan Foreman, Hutch Osteen and Keeper Eli Murphy.

Game two was a different story and a different outcome with the young Cougars losing to

Christian Heritage 6-3. We came out with less confidence than the previous game giving up too much of our defending third. This enabled our opponent to utilize their faster, older players for fast breaks.Goals were scored by Nehemiah Valdez (2) and B.J. Olusola (1). Other notable players were Clive Johnson, Carson Talley, Titon Wiebe, Francisco Munoz, Asher Wickliffe and Bric Billion.

Game three was much better with more solid play from our defense. The defense was able to help control all aspects of the game from our Keeper Eli Murphy to a massive end of the game clearance kick by Hutch Osteen. The offense was led by Nehemiah Valdez, B.J. Olusola, Aaron Sepulveda and Aidan Morales. Goals were scored by B.J. Olusola (2) and Nehemiah Valdez (1).

Other notable players were Bryce Myrick, Asher Wickliffe and Ethan Forman.

Next game is Monday, December 18th at Cumberland Academy. Game time is 5pm.
