Junior High Boys Battle Through Tough Matchup Against All Saints
January 23, 2025 – The Grace junior high boys basketball program returned to game action last week following a stretch that included two tournaments and a canceled matchup against Brook Hill. Both the seventh- and eighth-grade teams faced All Saints, falling to two well-coached and disciplined opponents.
The seventh-grade Cougars were tested in a physical, competitive contest. Despite the loss, coach David Garza praised his team’s effort and resilience.
“It was a tough fight,” Garza said. “We ended up losing to a very good All Saints team, but I really enjoyed watching our boys show determination, toughness and the ability to fight through adversity.”
The eighth-grade Cougars also battled throughout their game against a disciplined All Saints squad. While the result did not go in Grace’s favor, the team’s effort stood out.
“The boys played as hard as they could,” Garza remarked. “Even though it wasn’t the outcome we wanted, we’re proud of the way they competed.”
Both teams continue to focus on growth and preparation as they move forward in the season.
