JV Shuts Out Lone Oak
This past Thursday Night Lights, the JV Football Team got back to their winning ways as they would remain undefeated at home with 12 consecutive shutout quarters on their home turf! This week, it was the special teams that found the scoreboard first as Gabriel King kicked a field goal straight down the middle to put the JV Cougs up 3-0 early in the second quarter. Next, it was the defense that found the endzone, as Jackson Ford picked off Lone Oak’s quarterback and went 65 yards for a touchdown! And finally, the offense would end up scoring three times over the course of the game with McCade Stinson finding Doak Porter and Konnor McCoy for touchdown passes. Doak Porter would also add his first rushing touchdown of the year. Defensively, it was a glorious night for turnovers, as both Doak Porter and Turbo Fenton had interceptions, while Gabriel King caused a fumble that saw Austin Alexander recover it for the JV Cougs! Carter Eli was all over the field, as he led the team in tackles, highlighted by his tackles for loss in the fourth quarter on the one yard line to keep the shutout alive for the defense. This next week, the JV Football Team travels to Spring Hill for a 5:30 pm kickoff – GO COUGS!!! |
