Lady Cougar Basketball Goes 3-1 for the Week, Improves to 11-7 Overall

December 15, 2025 – The Lady Cougars posted a 3-1 record last week with wins over New Diana, Chapel Hill and Kerens to improve to 11-7 on the season.

On Tuesday, the Cougars jumped out to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter and carried a 31-5 advantage into halftime on the way to a 54-21 win over New Diana. Eva King led all scorers with 14 points, while Macy Loftis and Paige Gilmore added 13 points apiece.

The Cougars played two games Thursday at the Frankston Tournament, opening with a 47-44 comeback win over Chapel Hill. The Cougars held a narrow 26-23 lead at halftime but trailed 36-30 after a slow third quarter. Gilmore scored 14 of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter to spark the rally. Sophomore Rylee Phillips knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.

Later in the day, the Cougars pulled away late to defeat Kerens 46-32. Loftis led the team with 21 points, Gilmore added 13, and Lilly Kennedy scored six.

On Friday, playing without two starters, the Cougars fell to Elkhart 58-35. Jaci Whitson, Loftis and Kennedy each scored eight points, while Emmy Hood provided a spark off the bench with a pair of key baskets. Avery Morrison and Annabelle Davis contributed strong hustle and defensive play throughout the tournament.

The Lady Cougars will take a short break to rest and recover before returning to action in their final tournament after Christmas.
