Lady Cougar Soccer Punches Ticket to Final Four with Dominant Playoff Victory

March 2, 2026 – The Grace Girls soccer team are headed to the Final Four!  They punched their ticket to the State Tournament last Thursday with a commanding win against Brook Hill.  The Lady Guard tried everything they could think of to threaten the Lady Cougars but were outmatched and outplayed in every aspect of the game.  The final score was 5-0.

Grace started strong against the Lady Guard, who fought hard to stay in the game as long as they could, but who struggled to match the pace and quality of the Lady Cougars’ play.  The score stayed 0-0 until the 17th minute.  Cesa Sabillon scored the opener for Grace after Addison Eli chased down a quick throw-in from Elle Durham.  Eli stretched the lead to 2-0 on a pass from Kate Herod shortly before halftime.  The Lady Cougars continued to press from the opening kickoff of the second half.  Addie Mathews scored the third after a beautiful cut and pass from Ella Herrin.  30 seconds later, Mathews was involved in another goal, this time playing a ball across to Addison Eli, who nestled the ball into the corner with a clinical first-time shot.  Grace continued to press and pound the Lady Guard defense.  The final goal came from a header by Cesa Sabillon after a beautiful left-footed cross from Elle Durham.  

The defense once again was absolutely stifling, making it difficult for Brook Hill even to get a shot.  It was yet another clean sheet, their 6th in a row and 11th overall this season.  The Lady Cougar defense didn’t allow a single goal throughout the entire month of February and have not been scored on in 440 minutes (over 7 hours) and counting.  The Grace defense consisted of Maggie Gillen, Julia Feliciano, Pryce Bowler, Bella Wallace, Ella Herrin, Elon Evan’s, Elle Durham and goalkeeper Camille Moser. 

With this win, the Lady Cougars move to 15-0-1 on the year and will play in the State Semifinals for the third straight season.  They are scheduled to play Ft. Worth All Saints on Tuesday at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.  Kickoff is set for 12:30pm.  We hope you will show up or tune in if you can to cheer on our Grace Girls soccer team!
