Lady Cougars Open Playoffs Tuesday After Career Nights in Coram Deo Tune-Up

October 26, 2026 – Grace Community School’s varsity volleyball team is ready for the postseason after a five-set battle with Coram Deo Academy on Thursday in Plano, a warm-up match during a week off from district play that produced several career-best performances.

Kennedy had a career night at the net with seven blocks. Bryan passed a 2.3 in serve receive against one of the strongest serving teams the Lady Cougars have faced this season, and she added four aces and 11 kills and led the team in digs. Loftis posted 38 assists, three blocks and two aces, and set a personal record for kills in a match with 12.

Grace fell to Coram Deo in five sets, but the match gave the Lady Cougars a chance to test themselves against a talented, battle-tested team before the playoffs.

“This was a great opportunity to challenge ourselves against a high-level opponent as we continue preparing for the postseason,” said Ashley Zavala, head coach.

The Lady Cougars (24-9 overall, 8-2 in district) open the playoffs Tuesday, Oct. 27, against Fort Worth Christian at Dallas Covenant at 6:30 p.m.
