Lady Cougars Show Growth in Doubleheader vs. Hyde Park

March 30, 2026 – The Lady Cougars hosted Hyde Park this past week and showed significant improvement during a hard-fought doubleheader against the Panthers.

Although Grace did not come away with a win, the Lady Cougars displayed determination and competitiveness throughout both games, gaining valuable momentum as district play continues.

Senior Sadie Arriola led the offense with a .667 batting average and an .800 on-base percentage. Senior Malayna Cauley also delivered at the plate, finishing the night with a .500 batting average and an .800 on-base percentage. Caroline Fox reached base in every plate appearance, posting a 1.000 on-base percentage.

Seniors Mollie Mathis and Grace Bird, along with junior McKenzie Wulf, each recorded a hit and contributed with strong defensive play. Sophomore Jaci Whitson pitched the second game of the doubleheader and kept Hyde Park’s offense in check while also recording a .600 on-base percentage.

Junior Avery Blalock finished the night with a .200 on-base percentage, while freshman Aubrey Davis posted a .400 on-base percentage. Zoe Richmann made one of the top defensive plays of the night with a key catch in center field to prevent a run from scoring and also finished with a .667 on-base percentage.

The Lady Cougars will continue district play this week with matchups against Brook Hill on Monday at Grace at 5 p.m. and Thursday at Brook Hill at 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team.
