Lady Cougars Take Second at Rogers Relays, Cougars Earn Strong Finishes

March 16, 2026 – The Grace varsity track teams turned in strong performances Saturday at the Rogers Relays at FBA, highlighted by a second-place finish for the Lady Cougars among 21 teams. The Cougar boys team also competed well, finishing eighth out of 17 teams.
The Lady Cougars brought home several top finishes. Addie Mathews captured gold medals in both the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, while Emma Goetz won the 3,200-meter run. Sadie Arriola also claimed a gold medal in the discus.
Silver medals for the Lady Cougars went to Zadie Fenton in the 300-meter hurdles and Arriola in the shot put. Goetz added a bronze medal in the 1,600-meter run.
Additional points for the Lady Cougars came from Matthews in the long jump, Samantha Stewart in the triple jump, and Fenton in the 100-meter hurdles. The 4×400-meter relay team of Mathews, C. Goetz, Bryan, and Fenton also contributed valuable points.
On the boys side, Christian Henry earned a gold medal in the discus, while Luke Anderson captured silver in the shot put. Additional points came from Carson Talley in the 110-meter hurdles, Roe Gaddis in the 800-meter run, Anderson in the discus, and Henry in the shot put.
The Lady Cougars and Cougars will return to action Friday, March 20, at the Cougar Relays hosted at Grace. Field events will begin at 2 p.m., followed by running events at 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the teams.
