Middle School Swimmers Shine at Metroplex Championships

February 2, 2026 – Grace Community junior high swimmers delivered an outstanding performance Saturday at the Metroplex Middle School Division I Championships, held at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas.
The highlight of the meet was simple and powerful: every Grace swimmer recorded a personal-best time. Competing in a high-pressure championship environment, the Cougars rose to the occasion, racing with confidence, composure and consistency against a strong field of nine teams.
The girls team finished third overall, showcasing depth, balance and strong relay efforts throughout the meet. Every swimmer contributed points, and the team’s consistency across events proved critical in a competitive field.
Hannah Jenks led the girls with two championship titles, winning the 100-yard individual medley and the 50-yard breaststroke. Elizabeth Russell powered the sprint events, capturing first place in the 100-yard freestyle and third in the 50-yard backstroke. Audrey Stephenson posted a standout performance in the backstroke, earning a first-place finish along with a third-place result in the 100 IM. Lydia Martinez added key points with a second-place finish in the 50 butterfly and fourth place in the 100 IM.
The boys team finished eighth overall, a result that did not fully reflect their effort or determination. Racing against larger programs, the Grace boys competed with grit, pushed for personal bests and consistently supported one another throughout the meet.
Christopher Allgaier led the boys with strong finishes in the 100 IM and 50-yard breaststroke, while Noah Newton showed versatility with a second-place finish in the 50 breaststroke and a solid showing in the 50 freestyle. Ben Castle contributed valuable points with personal-best performances in the 50 butterfly and 100 freestyle.
Grace Community swimmers competed against Coram Deo Academy, Dallas International School, Fort Worth Nolan Catholic Middle School, Granbury Middle School, Greenhill School, Prestonwood Christian Academy, Southwest Christian Middle School and Parish Episcopal Middle School.
The championship performance reflected months of preparation, discipline and belief. Posting personal bests at a championship meet is no accident, and this group laid a strong foundation for the future of Grace Community swimming.
