Rain Brings Rest and Reflection as Cougar XC Prepares for Next Challenge

September 2, 2025 – The High School Cross Country team had an unexpected break this past weekend as the Lumberjack Invitational was rained out. While it’s never easy to miss a race, the team embraced the opportunity to rest and reflect on God’s perfect timing, enjoying a much-needed extra day of recovery over the long Labor Day weekend.

Though they still had reason to celebrate—Emma Goetz was nominated and voted Athlete of the Week for her standout performance at the Tyler Legacy XC Invitational! Keep an eye out for the article to be posted soon on Milesplit, the premier ranking platform for Texas high school cross country and track.

Looking ahead, the Cougars are preparing to split squads next week. Some athletes will compete at the Mike Darby Invitational on September 12th, while a select group will represent Grace at the Texas A&M XC Invitational on September 13th.
