Small, But Mighty. Cougar MS Swim Delivers Big Finishes

March 30, 2026 – The Grace 7th and 8th grade swim teams competed this past weekend in Nacogdoches against a strong group of programs, including Hubbard Middle School, McMichael Middle School, Texarkana Middle School, Birdwell Middle School, Moore Middle School, Whitehouse Junior High and Three Lakes Middle School.

Grace rose to the challenge against a deep and competitive field, showing strong effort, teamwork and continued improvement. The Cougar girls delivered an impressive meet, finishing in second place with consistent scoring across individual events and relays.

The boys team continued to gain experience and build momentum, competing with determination throughout the meet. Grace finished seventh overall while showing steady progress and strong sportsmanship.

Several Cougars posted standout individual finishes. For the girls, Hannah Jenks placed first in the 50 breaststroke and third in the 100 individual medley. Lydia Martinez earned first place in the 50 butterfly and placed fourth in the 100 individual medley. Audrey Stephenson took second in the 50 backstroke, while Elizabeth Russell finished fourth in both the 200 freestyle and 50 backstroke.

Additional scoring performances included Ona Foreman, who placed sixth in the 50 breaststroke and 12th in the 50 freestyle, and Larkin Meads, who finished fourth in the 50 breaststroke and 10th in the 50 freestyle.

On the boys side, Christopher Allgaier earned first place in the 50 breaststroke and placed third in the 100 individual medley. Ben Castle added strong finishes with fourth place in the 50 freestyle, sixth place in the 50 butterfly and continued contributions across events.

Grace also performed well in relays. The girls 200 medley relay team of Stephenson, Jenks, Martinez and Russell placed fourth. The 200 freestyle relay team of Martinez, Russell, Stephenson and Jenks earned second place.

The Cougars will look to continue building on their progress as the season moves forward.
