This is an “all skills” camp with an emphasis on baseball FUNdamentals. Participants will learn baseball skills during a camp that features fun competitions, contests, and games in addition to drills and one-on-one coaching.

Campers should bring a baseball glove, bat, helmet and water bottle. Baseball cleats recommended but not required. Bring tennis shoes to wear in the gym in case of rain. Campers will receive a 2019 Grace Baseball Camp t-shirt!

Offensive skills can be the greatest confidence builder in players while the lack of offensive skills can be the greatest confidence killer. This skills camp will be geared toward the teaching and developing of offensive skills.

Here is what to expect: games based approach to skill development, shooting mechanics and best practices, finishing around the basket and scoring moves, ball handling and passing, offensive team concepts, games and competitions.

Campers should wear gym appropriate shoes and bring a water bottle. Campers will receive a t-shirt!

The goal of this camp is to prepare Grace athletes for their upcoming sports. Our focus will be strength development, explosion, speed improvement and agility. We will teach proper weight lifting techniques, safety in the weight room, and provide both group and individual coaching. We will spend about an hour in the weight room and thirty minutes outside doing agility and speed development. A strong, explosive athlete is a healthy athlete. A weak athlete is a candidate for injury. This camp will improve athleticism, overall strength and speed, and will prepare Grace athletes for competition. Come join us and prepare to WIN!!

Mini Cheer Camp

Entering: 1st – 5th Grades

Do you want to be a future GCS Cheerleader? Sign up for Mini Cheer Camp and learn a routine with stunts, jumps, tumbling and dancing! Mini cheerleaders will become buddies with the GCS Varsity Cheerleaders and will have a photo taken with Champ!

Please wear t-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, and hair in a ponytail each day to camp.  Please bring your own water bottle.  Mini Cheerleaders will receive a t-shirt. Parents are invited to come at 11:30 am on Thursday for a showoff and awards! Space is limited to 50.

Elementary Football Skills

Entering:  3rd – 5th Grades

This camp will focus on developing fundamental football skills for the young athlete interested in football of any kind, be it tackle, flag or 7-on-7 football.  (This will be a no tackle camp)  Emphasis will be placed on throwing, catching, route running, ball carrying/security, defense, and more!

Please bring a refillable water bottle and snack. Participants can wear any athletic shoes or cleats.

Football – Jr High QB & WR

This camp is for all Grace Junior High Boys who are interested in developing their quarterback or wide receiver skills. Campers will be taught various techniques and tactics for these positions, as well as being introduced to the specific terminology and philosophy of the Grace Football Program.

This camp is for all Grace Junior High Boys who are interested in playing football for the Cougars. Players will be introduced to the fundamentals of all offensive and defensive positions. They will also begin learning the terminology and philosophy of the Grace Football Program.

All Day Soccer Camps is one of the NEW camps available in the Tyler area. Established since 2008 in Mississippi, this camp will concentrate on the technical and tactical aspects of the small-sided games and challenge each camper throughout the week to improve from their individual soccer level. From a Christian environment, we also provide group devotionals for each theme of the day. The coaching staff’s dedication and professionalism will help all campers develop their game in the best of settings. The camp will focus on technical ball skills and small-sided games as well as emphasizing the finishing factor of scoring goals. There is no finer place than All Day Soccer Camps to get the best in basic and elite soccer education right near you!

Please wear cleats, shin guards, and bring your soccer ball if you have one. Campers should also bring indoor/tennis shoes, towel, and an extra set of clothes. All campers will receive a All Day Soccer Camp t-shirt!

These will be fun camps designed to focus on fine tuning for advanced players & to develop the basic fundamentals of the game for beginner players. These camps will focus on infield, outfield, pitching, catching & offense w/ base running. Participants need to bring a glove, bat, helmet & water bottle. Softball cleats are recommend but not required. Please bring tennis shoes in case it rains.

Swim – Summer Competition League Session 1

Ages 11+
June 3 – July 26, 8 – 9:30am
Cost:  $210

Site: East Texas Aquatics Pool

Requirement: Be able to swim, unassisted, the length of the pool using any stroke.

Students will develop all four swim strokes over the course of the summer. There will be a few fun Saturday swim meets here in East Texas for the students to have a chance to put their developing skills to the test.

This camp is for Grace students entering 9th-12th grade. All High School players planning on trying out for volleyball in the fall need to attend camp.

Camp times will be 9am til 11:30, break for lunch, then resume at 12:30 til 2pm.

This camp is for Grace Jr High students entering 7th-8th grades. If you are interested in trying out for the Junior High teams in August, you should attend this camp. We will work on passing, setting, hitting, and blocking. We will also work on team dynamics, such as team offense and defense. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

App Creation for Apple’s iOS

Entering 9th – 12th Grades

In this camp, learn to develop apps for Apple’s iOS using Xcode. Xcode is the same software that professionals use to build Apple software–learn to use the same tools that the pros use!

Note: you must bring your own MacBook/MacBook Pro with the most recent version of Xcode. This is a beginner/entry level class, but we will move quickly.

Camp Spotlight – Summer Musical Theater

Camp Spotlight is a Musical Theatre Camp. We will have 10:30am and 6pm performances on the 28th. This camp is OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY–you do not need to be a student at Grace to attend.

This summer, we are performing “Frozen Jr.”, based on the original Disney animated movie. Campers should come dressed ready to move and dance! No prior musical/theatre experience needed!

Site:  Grace Upper Campus–Meet each day in the foyer in the back of the HS building, by the auditorium.

Based on the best-selling book “The Dangerous Book for Boys”, this camp will have your son doing things that boys love to do. No video games or TV here!! Some of the activities might be just a little bit dangerous – like learning to build a fire! Some get you dirty – like water cannon fights on the dirt hill! And some are just plain awesome – like building and launching rockets over the baseball field! So come experience the most exciting camp for boys this summer, but hurry because space fills up fast! (Have no fear – all activities are well supervised and mom approved!)  ***We will mix in some NEW activities this year!!!***

Campers are asked to bring a snack, refillable water bottle, and sunscreen or bug spray if needed.

Kickstart Kindergarten

Take the mystery out of kindergarten. Early math and literacy concepts become real and meaningful as children make the connection to their everyday world. Multisensory strategies make lessons memorable and provide real-life context so children learn easily.  Includes letter and word concepts, rich vocabulary, and concepts about print. Lessons address general readiness, alphabet knowledge, letter/number recognition and formation, counting, drawing, shapes, and colors. Your child will get a boost for kindergarten in this course! Snack provided.

Mathletes

Entering 2nd – 5th Grades

Build confidence and fluency with math facts in this hands-on class. Students will work towards building recognition and skill with the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) based on their need and grade level. Students will bring home a “tool box” of study skills and engaging practice methods to apply at home.

Learn to Code with App Inventor 2

Entering 9th-12th Grades

Learn to create mobile apps for Android devices using MIT’s App Inventor 2! Test your app builds right on your Android device! Note: you will need to bring a mobile device that runs the most recent version of Android, with MIT’s Companion app; this can be a phone or a tablet. If you do not yet have a device, the Huawei MediaPad is the suggested device for purchase.

Mad Science gives kids the opportunity to learn about science through interactive and hands-on science activities. Discover science working in nature through storms – Earth Science and Weather. Students will explore science in their hands as they manipulate magnetic and electrical forces and science in their mouths putting matter to the test – the Taste Test. The students will investigate the anatomy of a Sea Star and other Echinoderms. Chemistry, Properties of Air, Things that Fizzle, Slime, States of Matter and Forces of Motion are just some of the fields we’ll explore in this fun-filled, action packed week.

In this class, students build reading, spelling, and comprehension skills thorough multi-sensory instruction. Students will learn and build upon strategies for sounds out words, comprehending text, and recalling sight words with confidence!
