Grace Athletic Summer Camps

Baseball

Entering:  1st – 6th Grades
May 30 – June 2 from 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Cost:  $80

This is an “all skills” camp with an emphasis on baseball FUNdamentals.  Participants will learn baseball skills during a camp that features fun competitions, contests and games.

Campers should bring a baseball glove, bat, helmet, and water bottle.  Wear baseball cleats if you have them!

Cheer

Entering: 1st – 5th Grades
July 18 – 20 from 9 am – Noon
Cost:  $85

Do you want to be a future GCS Cheerleader?  Sign up for Mini Cheer Camp and learn a routine with stunts, jumps, tumbling and dancing!  Mini cheerleaders will become buddies with the GCS Varsity Cheerleaders and will have a photo taken with Champ!

Please wear t-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, and hair in a ponytail each day to camp.  The second day of camp will be USA Day, so show us your best red, white & blue outfit!

Our camp will meet in the High School gym each day.  A light snack will be provided, but please bring your own water bottle and additional snacks if necessary.  We will also end each day with a sweet treat to eat!

Mini Cheerleaders will receive a “2017 Mini Cheer Camp” t-shirt to wear on Thursday, the last day of camp.  Parents are invited to come at 11:30 am on Thursday for a showoff and awards!

Soccer

Entering: K – 8th Grades
June 27 – 30 from 8:30 am – 11:00 am
Cost:  $75

Campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game of soccer in a fun environment!  They will be broken up by age in order to focus on the specific needs of each age.  Players will be taught the principles of defending, dribbling, passing, receiving and finishing.

Campers are encouraged to wear shinguards and cleats.  They will receive a 2017 Grace Soccer Camp t-shirt.

Boys Basketball: High School Team

Entering:  9th – 12th Grades
July 17 – 19 from 1 pm – 4 pm
Cost:  $100

Campers will focus on offensive (dribbling, passing & shooting) and defensive (man to man, rotations, etc.) skills and IQ.  Each day will conclude with team (3 on 3, 5 on 5) and individual (knockout, free throws, 3-point, and skills challenge) competitions.

Campers will need to bring their own water bottle.

Basketball: Elementary Skills

Entering:  3rd – 5th Grades
July 11 – 13 from 9 am – 11:30 am

Campers will learn basic ball handling skills (dribbling and passing), as well as learning how to shoot a basic lay-up.  They will also be taught basic defensive moves.  Each day will conclude with a team competition.

Each camper will be responsible for their own water bottle.  Camp instructors will include both current and former Grace players.

Campers will develop their speed, strength & conditioning in a Christian environment.  They will learn the fundamentals of various types of weight lifting and speed training exercises.

Girls Basketball: High School Team

Entering:  9th – 12th Grades
July 5 – 7 from 9 am – Noon

This will be a great opportunity to build individual skills plus develop a better understanding of how those skills translate onto the court
and into team concepts.  We hope to increase their basketball IQ by teaching basketball terminology; by teaching, drilling and reviewing fundamentals – incorporating those skills into 2-man, 3-man and 5-man situations.  We will also challenge the girls to develop a deeper spiritual leadership/winning mind-set with the goal of helping prepare them for much more than basketball.

Girls Basketball: Jr High Team

Entering:  7th – 8th Grades

The junior high basketball skills and development is for grades 6-8. We will break down the fundamentals for both offense and defense in order to enhance each player’s overall game. We will teach basic ball handling, quick shooting, passing against an opponent, screens, rebounding, and team defense. By the end of the camp, players will be able to connect individual skills into a fast pace game.

Football Jr High Team

Entering:  6th – 8th Grades
July 24 – 26 from 8 am – 11 am
Cost:  $100

This camp is for all Grace Junior High boys who plan on playing football in August.  Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of all offense and defense positions.  They will begin learning the specific terminology and philosophy of the Grace Football Program.

Football Jr High QB & Receiver

Entering:  6th – 8th Grades
May 22 – 24 from 8 am – 11 am
Cost:  $100

Campers will develop the fundamentals of Quarterback and Wide Receiver positions.  Quarterbacks will learn proper techniques for passing, running, handoffs, and game management.  Receivers will learn the basics of stance, get off, route running, and catching.

Swim League

Session 1:

Summer Competition League for students who can swim at least 25 yards freestyle or backstroke.  All four swim strokes will be developed.

Practices will be Monday-Thursday, with Friday’s serving as a make-up day.  Competitions are Saturdays at various locations.  Not all competitions are required.  (There will be no swim practice the week of July 4th).

Students need a good swimsuit, goggles, and swim cap.  A team cap will be provided for competitions.

This camp is for Grace students entering 9th-12th grade.  All High School players planning on trying out for volleyball in the Fall need to attend camp.

This camp is for Grace Jr High students entering 7th-8th grades.  If you are interested in trying out for the Junior High teams in August, you should attend this camp.  We will work on passing, setting, hitting, and blocking.  We will also work on team dynamics, such as team offense and defense.

This camp is for any girls entering 6th-8th grades.  We will focus on the individual skills and fundamentals of volleyball by teaching how to pass, set, hit & block a ball.

Grace Academic Summer Camps

Dangerous Camp for Boys

Entering:  1st – 5th Grades
Session 1: May 22 – 25 from 9 am – Noon
Session 2: June 12 – 15 from 9 am – Noon
Session 3: July 17 – 20 from 9 am – Noon
Cost:  $125

Based on the best-selling book “The Dangerous Book for Boys”, this camp will have your son doing things that boys love to do. No video games or TV here!! Some of the activities might be just a little bit dangerous – like learning to build a fire! Some get you dirty – like water cannon fights on the dirt hill! And some are just plain awesome – like building and launching rockets over the baseball field! So come experience the most exciting camp for boys this summer, but hurry because space fills up fast! (Have no fear – all activities are well supervised and mom approved!)

Campers are asked to bring a snack, refillable water bottle, and sunscreen or bug spray if needed.

Simple & Motorized Machines

Completed 2nd – 8th Grades

There is a maximum class size of 16 campers. This session features “Simple & Motorized Mechanisms” from LEGO® Education and is a hands-on tool that helps students investigate  basic mechanical principles through advanced motor-powered machines while also acquiring key insights in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) topics.

Completed: 4th – 8th Grades

VEX IQ

Students are required to bring a lunch and come prepared for robotic designing, building, and programming.  “VEX Robotics inspires students to become the problem solving heroes of tomorrow. PreKinder Camp

Entering: Junior Kindergarten – Kindergarten

PreKinder Camp: All About Me!  Exploring fun and creative ways to learn about myself, others, and the world around me through games, social play, and arts & crafts.  We will work on PreK and Kindergarten readiness skills like cutting, coloring and following directions.   Camp will include a take home project centered around each child’s name and their own creativity!  Come join us!

Come Craft With Us

Entering: 3rd – 7th Grades

Campers will learn how to make large and small Paper Crepe Flowers, nail and string art, and make a “silhouette” of themselves or someone else and frame it.  They will also make 3-D pictures and popout cards, origami birds, bath salts & bombs, and more!
