HS Tennis Girls Doubles Consolation Champions
Both JV and Varsity teams had matches last week after the two-week break. It is never easy coming off two weeks and jumping back into the season, but the team pulled it off. On Tuesday, March 19th the JV team traveled to Kilgore to compete against 23 area schools in the Kilgore Invitational. Tessa Stockhammer and Rowyn Parish returned from Kilgore with some more medals to add to their collections as Girls Doubles Consolation Champions. The varsity team had to deal with rain and learned how to be creative and positive when things didn’t go our way. On the way to our match against Legacy Christian, we got a call about 1/2 way that the rain had started in Dallas and that we would need to cancel the match. Although discouraged we could not play, we found an indoor court in Dallas that gave us some court time to still practice. The next day we were scheduled to play in a tournament at Ennis Tennis Complex. Similar story, we received a message early the next morning that the event had been canceled. Again, we got resourceful and located 4 indoor courts and put together our mini tri-match with Spring Hill and Lindale High Schools. The teams had some great competition and competitive matches. We are thankful for Spring Hill and Lindale being willing to travel and make that happen! Upcoming the high school team will be taking on Brook Hill on Tuesday, March 26th at 4 pm.
