Varsity Boys Soccer Starts Non-District

Last week was a busy one with 5 games played!

The boy’s HS Varsity Soccer team started their non-district games the week before Thanksgiving break. They were eager to start and on Tuesday 11/14, they won their first match of the season versus @Bishop Gorman 7-2. 



The first goal of the season was scored by junior midfielder Andres Casillas (2 assists). Casillas added a second goal as well. The rest of the goals were scored by senior forward Daniel Kucheruk, senior midfielder, Cole Edens (2 assists). Two goals were scored by freshman forward Josiah King (1 assist) and junior midfielder Carter Eitel (1 assist). Senior midfielder Conner Emery also assisted in one of the goals.

Notable performance went to sophomore midfielder Logan Trump who played different positions throughout the game. Junior goalkeeper Jake Jones ended with 7 saves in the game.

The rematch was on Thursday 11/16 at home and the Cougars won 3-1. The Crusaders came out strong in the first half and were winning 0-1 at the half. Starting the second half, the boys were determined to find a way to win and they did. Two goals were scored by senior forward Carter Eli and one goal was scored by junior midfielder Carter Eitel. One assist per goal went to senior forward Conner Emmory, junior midfielder Matthew Hunsinger, and senior midfielder Daniel Kucheruk. Notable performances went to senior defender Cole Edens and sophomore midfielder Logan Trump. Junior goalkeeper Jake Jones ended with 6 saves in the game.

The soccer team is now 2-0 (0-0) and is scheduled to play at @All Saints on Monday 11/27 for an early 5 pm kickoff. That same week, the Cougars will host their annual Winter Soccer Tournament at home.

Thursday 11/30  v. Concordia @ 7pm

Friday 12/1 v. Lutheran South  @12pm & v.Second Baptist  @ 6pm *MS Recognition night

Saturday 12/2 v. Highlands @1pm
